Job Title: Windows 10 Migration Technician

Type: Contract up to 8 weeks

Location: Bloor St West, Toronto, ON M8X 2X2

Start Date: Targeted July 13th, 2020

End Date: September 11th, 2020

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:00 PM: 7.5 hours/day

Project Scope:

Our customer is in the process of a company-wide Win 10 refresh and needs help with a backlog of migrations that need to be completed.


  • Call-Centre and Insides Sales all had desktops on the office
  • Have 2 separate spaces (20 x 20 each)
  • Utilize SCCM for imaging/task sequence plus AV and Bit-locker (have fully documented SCCM process)
  • 3-4hrs to complete per unit, can do multiple units at a time
  • The focus is to get the Call Centre and Insides Sales teams approx. 50 users swap out their desktops for laptops
  • Prepare laptops (image)
  • Users will be scheduled to come in when their laptops are ready for pickup, at the same time they will return their desktops
  • Desktops will be held for 1 week (in case users forget info etc.)
  • After 1 week will desktops to be data wipe (Client to provide data wipe s/w and instructions)
  • Need 2 x techs for up to 8 weeks, primarily focusing on the 50 Call Centre and Insides Sales employees (switching their desktops with laptops)
  • Only limited Client staff will be onsite but PTG’s technicians will have Moneris IT lead to work with whether on-site daily or remotely
  • Standardized on Lenovo T490 laptops

Job Description


  • Perform IMAC (installs, moves, add, changes) services on hardware on desktops, laptops, tablets, flat-panel monitors, printers, point of sale (POS) + peripherals, routers, firewalls, switches, access points, & servers
  • Perform desktop and COTS software installation/upgrades including staging & imaging
  • Provide break-fix services
  • Perform 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level desk side support services troubleshooting & remediating hardware, software, and network-related issues for end-users & Executives (white glove)
  • Provide 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level help desk support for end-users & Executives (white glove)
  • Perform LAN and internetworking related activities
  • Handle bench repairs & remedial maintenance
