Job Title: Senior HP Workstation Technician

Start: July 2019

Location: Guelph, ON

Day/Time: Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Overview:

Our client in Guelph, ON is looking for a Sr. HP Workstation Technician to perform imaging and re-imaging of workstations OS and applications providing exceptional customer service skills. HP Server experience is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform imaging and re-imaging of workstation operating systems and applications
  • Identifying and resolving the root cause of most hardware, network, and software malfunctions at the workstation level
  • Deliver a positive customer experience by maintaining contractual service levels
  • Utilize your experience and knowledge for customer documentation development
  • Perform hardware warranty and non-warranty repairs of desktops, notebooks, printers, servers and network equipment as well as point of sale and other non-traditional end user equipment
  • Prepare real-time, accurate and detailed notes within the ticketing system
  • Provide end-user support and assistance on various operating systems and applications
  • Function as a team leader on project assignments
  • Perform work on-site at customer locations as assigned on a regular basis

Required skills:

  • 5 years of related experience and education in a relevant program of study from an accredited institution, as well as experience with current operating systems
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to take direction and follow standard methodologies
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills
  • Hands-on experience working with HP Servers

Technical skills:

  • A+ Certification and other manufacturer hardware certifications are required
  • Experience and or certifications in HP Servers, Tape Library, Blades, Proliant and Storage

Nice to have:

  • Server Plus and OEM certification. Network Plus (Net+) would be an asset
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA/CCNP) or CCNP Security designation preferred
  • Bilingualism is an asset
