Title: Security Architect
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 6 months contract
Responsibilities:
- Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture/platform, and identifying integration issues
- Researching and designing public key infrastructures, certification authorities, and digital signatures, and ensuring all personnel have IT access limited to their need and role in the organization
- Assist with projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business as a recognized expert in Network Security.
- Partner with multiple teams to architect technology solutions that deliver cybersecurity controls
- Execute and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Evaluate new threats, solutions and the impact on IT and Business operations
- Assist with the development of enterprise network security process and standards
- Developing project timelines for system upgrades and preparing cost estimates
- Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
- Assist with planning and coordination of the implementation of network security systems by working closely with cross-functional teams
- Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Qualification and Experience:
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Advanced IT security certifications may be advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience architecting security solutions that align with business requirements
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- Strong working knowledge Endpoint Detection and Response solutions such as Carbon Black and Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
- Office 365 Security Controls such as ATP and Exchange Online Protection
- Azure Security
- Windows Operating System Security
- 3+ years of experience in a senior cybersecurity engineer or architect role
- Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability
- Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security
- Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
- Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies
- Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
