Title: Security Architect

Location: Vancouver, BC 

Duration: 6 months contract

 

Responsibilities:

  • Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture/platform, and identifying integration issues
  • Researching and designing public key infrastructures, certification authorities, and digital signatures, and ensuring all personnel have IT access limited to their need and role in the organization
  • Assist with projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business as a recognized expert in Network Security.
  • Partner with multiple teams to architect technology solutions that deliver cybersecurity controls
  • Execute and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Evaluate new threats, solutions and the impact on IT and Business operations
  • Assist with the development of enterprise network security process and standards
  • Developing project timelines for system upgrades and preparing cost estimates
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Assist with planning and coordination of the implementation of network security systems by working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.


Qualification and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Advanced IT security certifications may be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience architecting security solutions that align with business requirements
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Strong working knowledge Endpoint Detection and Response solutions such as Carbon Black and Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
  • Office 365 Security Controls such as ATP and Exchange Online Protection
  • Azure Security
  • Windows Operating System Security 
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior cybersecurity engineer or architect role
  • Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security
  • Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
  • Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
