Title: Security Analyst

Location: Vancouver, BC

Duration: 6 months contract

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Monitor their organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs
  • Responsible for generating reports for IT administrators and business managers to evaluate the efficacy of the security policies in place.
  • Monitors and communicates threat intelligence from various resources that is relevant to our client's networks and systems.
  • Coordinates the implementation of security countermeasures
  • Conduct penetration testing, which is when analysts simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in their systems before they can be exploited
  • Participates in the response to cyber incidents by gathering data and artifacts relevant to the event.
  • Provides production support to security systems
  • Ensures compliance with security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Must stay up to date on IT security and on the latest methods attackers are using to infiltrate computer systems.


Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and experience in the information security field
  • Must hold at least one industry cybersecurity certification
  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst CySA+ preferred
  • Experience with security monitoring tools, such as, Carbon Black, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure ATP, Office 365 ATP
  • Experience with security incident and event monitoring solutions such as Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel
  • Experienced with penetration testing and techniques and ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities
  • Candidate must have ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal)
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues
  • Participates in the response to cyber incidents by gathering data and artifacts relevant to the event.
