Job Title: Office 365 Migration Specialist

Type: Contract - 6 months

Location: Ottawa, ON

Job Description:

Role: Office 365 Migration Specialist  

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the lead architect in planning, designing, and implementing solution to migrate AD/Exchange to Office 365
  2. Assist, or lead, discovery, conduct workshops, and gathering of requirements, as required, by lead architect
  3. Assist in the development and perform the deployment of policies and other best practice configurations using Microsoft Office 365 Security Center and related components.
  4. Troubleshoot moderate to complex issues across the breadth of the O365 solution.
  5. Deploy, configure subscriptions, configure Exchange/AD/application settings/DNS, manage, and monitor messaging infrastructure, permissions, client access, mail protection, apply licenses, and mail flow in both on-premises, hybrid, and cloud enterprise environments, i.e. Office 365, during project execution
  6. Act as a subject matter expert/Tier III support for the operations team as it pertains to the Microsoft landscape during project execution
  7. Assist in the assessment, documentation, and preparation of remedial plans for:
    1. Messaging/Communication server infrastructure readiness for O365
    2. End user devices assessment
    3. Mobile devices configuration and organization policies assessment
    4. LAN/WAN performance assessment for O365 readiness
    5. Active Directory and Email/Exchange assessment
  8. Assist lead architect, or lead development of document deliverables, like the following, but not limited to:
    1. O365 Migration Solution Design,
    2. Implementation of O365 Migration Solution,
    3. Service Management Office 365 – Target State Design,
    4. Office 365 Tenant Configuration,
    5. Configuration Acceptance Test Strategy,
    6. Configuration Acceptance Test Strategy,
    7. Configuration Acceptance Test plan,
    8. Configuration Acceptance Test Report, and
    9. Migration Solution Acceptance Strategy.
  9. Assist in preparing training remediation plan and assist in training if to be required during duration of project.
  10. Collaborate with project managers, customer project managers, and customer technical partners in the performance of responsibilities
  11. Prepare summary reports of activities, risks assessments, and other required data for project management and end customer periodic reporting

Skills and Experience:

  1. 2+ years’ experience in infrastructure support, design, and or implementation of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft Cloud technologies/Azure, and Office 365.
  2. 2+ years’ professional experience in customer facing capacity in planning, architecting solutions, creating roadmaps, and presenting from staff to executive levels
  3. Strong knowledge/experience on Microsoft technologies, Cloud, Iaas/SaaS/PaaS, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, O365, SharePoint, Skype, Networks (LAN/WAN), and IS Security.
  4. Desired Microsoft 365 Messaging Administrator Associate or Teams Administrator Associate
  5. Desired: ITIL/ITSM certified
  6. Nice to have: Microsoft certification on Azure – design and implement or architect level
  7. Nice to have – CCIE/CCNP or HPE network engineering designation
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills
  9. Strong technical writing skills
