Job Title:    Deskside Support Technician

Location:    San Diego, CA 92128

Starts:         ASAP

Schedule:    Monday – Friday 9AM – 5PM

Duration:     4 weeks 

Scope of Work:

You will be focused on Feature Set and OS upgrades for around 100 laptops (30 on site 70 remote). The laptops are very far behind in their OS and Feature Set updates and this is a very manual task that takes time. Training on what needs to be done (both on site and how to assist remote users with updates) will be provided by us. A user update schedule will be created. The resource will call the different end users at the assigned appointment time to begin do the updates. All Laptops in scope are HP models.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform intermediate IMAC (installs, moves, add, changes) activities: hardware rollouts, refreshes, and other hardware deployment related activities on PCs, laptops, printers, POS devices, etc.
  • Perform deskside support services installing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network related issues
  • Perform basic LAN and internetworking related activities
  • Set up new phones (mobile and desk phones)
  • Set up new desktops/laptops (imaging and configuration)
  • Handle software installation/support/upgrades
  • Provide 1st level Help Desk support
  • Handle bench repairs (depot service) & remedial maintenance

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

  • Have at 1 – 2 years of field service experience doing hardware rollouts, refreshes, and other deployment related activities
  • Have at 1 – 2 years of deskside support experience with Windows 10
  • Have strong internetworking and troubleshooting skills
  • May have other vendor certifications from Cisco, Microsoft and/or from OEMs (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, HP) or A+ certification
  • Must be a self-starter and can manage multiple tasks
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision
  • Must be available to work flexible work schedules
