Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm optional

Overview & Description:

Business Systems Analyst

As part of Customer’s Managed Print Services (MPS), the Business Systems Analyst (Data Management Specialist) primary purpose is to organize the Print Services’ application data into consumable formats utilizing Customer’s Tableau platform and to provide data analytical services to internal clients of that data.

The Data Management Specialist (“DMS”) will interact with internal clients of the Print Services’ team, acting as a Business Systems Analyst, to collect business requirements for Print related data and assist in the interpretation of the data or the training on how to utilize the data effectively.

The DMS will access Customer/HP systems to build reporting processes and to establish the correct consumable format for the respective requirement of the data held within these systems. (i.e. Billing Data, Capacity Management Data, Security Data, Usage Data, Incident Tickets, Order Tickets, etc.)

EXECUTION AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Assesses, researches, and analyzes business and system needs to recommend data solutions and formats.
  • Develops Tableau based dashboards to support Customer’s requirements.
  • Develops reporting solutions to support Print Services and internal clients.
  • Leads detailed design phases for small to large projects / programs identifying, tracking and resolving data issues.
  • Develops, documents and executes programs of difficult complexity.
  • Creates documented processes to ensure all aspects of Data Management are understood within the Print Services.
  • Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project.
  • Develops proposals for senior management, as required.
  • Manages joint development, testing and plans and co-ordinates implementations.
  • Performs performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions.
  • Coordinates testing with external vendors, as/if required.
  • Provides input and co-ordinates with database administrator in modifying existing database structures based on required functionality.
  • Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of other team members.
  • Resolves conflicts / issues and escalates others as appropriate.
  • Performs database reporting or data extraction processes as defined by Application Management or other internal sources.

 

PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES

  • Provides consulting services on new initiatives (small to large and of varying complexity).
  • Act as or works with Project Managers to determine best mix of Print Data to meet business requirements and project objectives.
  • Contributes to successful project completion by identifying risks, developing, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Provides project support by gathering, correlating and analyzing source data for project and migration activities.
  • Provides analytical due diligence for acquisition and new business opportunities.

 

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

  • Ensures the production environment is fully operational from a data management perspective and escalates any operational issues to appropriate stake holders or management.
  • Provides data management support to identified applications or systems.
  • Conducts regular investigations with technical and business partners to determine the best use of Print related data.
  • Assists with all Risk Management activities required to support Data Management activities.
  • Knowledgeable on the reporting tool, supporting automated canned reports and generate custom reports for specific investigations.
  • Partner with key stake holders to identify cost savings opportunities.
